A Little Background on Cupertino, CA
This community was first established in the 19th century as a small rural village. Over the years, it has grown and seen a diversified local economy.
The community was ultimately named Cupertino after Arroyo San Jose de Cupertino (now Stevens Creek). The creek had been named by a Spanish explorer’s cartographer, who named it after Saint Joseph of Cupertino.
The name can be traced back to the town of Copertino in the Apulia region of Italy.
Today, this community is made up of numerous popular subdivisions, most of which have been developed since the 1960s. Some of these communities include Seven Springs, Oak Valley, Monta Vista and Rancho Rinconado.
